Newspaper report November 2004:
'A single borough's compensation bill for people claiming to have been injured tripping on uneven pavements has hit an astonishing £14 million. Since 1999, around 3,300 pedestrians have lodged compensation claims. That works out at an average of around 55 a month with an average payout of £5,000. Claims have almost doubled in the past decade, prompting officials to set up a 'slips and trips' committee.'
Compensation culture is on the rise and lawyers aggressively chasing new business have not helped.
It's compensation culture gone crazy - and it's the council taxpayers who are picking up the bill.
Around 600,000 people suffer injuries needing medical treatment in pavement falls each year.
It puts legal and insurance costs at £500 million per annum.
Why choose Teales?
When we investigate claims, we are aware of all current legislation and the rules of evidence. We compile a two day video diary of the Claimant which is edited and presented in the format of your choice - DVD/VHS, etc., with a comprehensive report and still photographs of any relevant points.
We also regularly investigate employee claims in a similar manner. These range from staff off work with alleged stress, to accidents in the workplace. More than 95% of cases we investigate are either fraudulent or exaggerated in terms of quantum.
Anti Social Behaviour
Where witnesses are too frightened through intimidation or unable to give appropriate evidence, our operatives will record time and date stamped video evidence of anti-social behaviour using specially adapted vehicles or from static observation points.
This evidence can be quickly prepared enabling your legal department to successfully apply for ASBOs. We even have operatives who can serve the Court papers, prepare and swear the Affidavits - see our Legal Section.
